Adding and Updating Products

Your store wouldn’t be one without products, and adding them is a simple process. Jazva offers a multitude of options for you to define and manage your products.

Adding Products Manually 

  1. From the main menu, navigate to Products and select Add New Product.
  2. Complete the required fields in the Product Info section and Add Item tab:
    • Title
    • Description
    • Vendor
    • Vendor SKU - your main/internal SKU
    • Cost
  3. Other fields and attributes are optional
  4. If the product is a kit comprised of other items, toggle to the Add Kit tab, add items by entering SKUs in the search field, and then adjust the quantities.
  5. Click Create and you will be redirected to the new Item Details page.
    1. If your product has more than 1 item or variation, each item will have its own Details tab, named after its specific title and numbered with an Item ID (IID).

Congratulations! Your product is now in the system at its most basic form. We recommend completing the product information by Updating Your Products and Uploading Product Images via the Basket.

Updating Your Products

With Jazva, you can define your products in great depth using a wide variety of options, allowing you to manage products efficiently and create attractive listings.

Adding Images

  1. Open up an existing product
  2. From the Item Details page, click Product Image on the left of the product title. If the product already has an existing image, click the image.
  3. An image window will appear, allowing you to select a default image. If you have variations, each item will have a designated section below the default.
  4. Drag-and-drop the images into the appropriate sections. You can also upload images directly using +Add. You can add multiple images for each variation.
  5. Drag the images freely to rearrange their order. The first image will be the default
  6. Click Close.
  7. From the Item Details page, scroll down and click Save.

Note on Amazon Variation Images: Automatic Variation Image Chooser

If a product variation does not have an image, Jazva will automatically publish an image from another variation based on similar attributes. This feature lets you publish listings faster on Amazon, without having to upload the same images for similar variations.

Let’s say you have a Red T-shirt that comes in three sizes: Small, Medium and Large. If you plan to use the same image for all three variations, you can simply add the image to one of the variations (such as the Small one), and the other two sizes will inherit it.

Similarly, if you have another Blue T-shirt that only has an image on the Large variation, the same image will be applied to all Blue T-shirt sizes. The smart chooser identifies similar items based on common attributes (e.g. Color). This saves you time so you wouldn’t have to upload the same images repeatedly.

This functionality is available when publishing products to Amazon, whose image requirements are very strict. This will help ensure that when you publish products, they are not missing proper variation images.

Additional Product Setup, Attributes and Soft Options

For greater definition, add traits to classify and differentiate the product.

  1. Open up an existing product
  2. Click the Setup tab to show drop-down options and select Setup.
  3. Set the following settings:
    • Popularity Boost
    • Serial Number
    • Tax Class
  4. Add Keywords to be pushed to your channels.
  5. In the ATTRIBUTES section, click the Add drop-down list and select attribute sets to attach to the product.
  6. In the SOFT OPTIONS section, click the Add drop-down list and select soft option sets to attach to the product.
  7. Click Submit to complete setup.

Product Descriptions

  1. Open up an existing product
  2. Click the Setup tab to show the drop-down options and select Description.
  3. Enter or update the Title, Main Description and Short Description.
  4. You can also click Switch to: Rich Text Editor for more complex editing options.
  5. Click Save.

Defining Details and Attributes

  1. Open up an existing product
  2. From the Item Details tab, select the following status options that apply to your item:
    • Active – this setting permits the product to be published and updated on their linked channels.
    • Discontinued – marks the product as discontinued.
    • Pre-Order – this setting permits the product to remain on sale even if stocks reach zero.
    • Drop-Ship – permits the product to remain on sale even if stocks reach zero and automatically drop-ships orders.
    • Gift-Wrappable – this setting marks the product as gift-wrappable.
  3. Select a primary Vendor. To add multiple vendors, click on the gear icon. Complete the required fields for each additional vendor as needed.
  4. Enter a UPC and Vendor SKU/VID.
  5. Select soft options and attributes on the third column (if applicable).

Adding Inventory

Inventory can be added using various methods such as via import or automatically when receiving shipments. It can also be entered directly from a product.

  1. Open an existing product
  2. From the Item Details Page, scroll to the INVENTORY section
  3. Enter inventory counts for each facility or facility location. Upon saving, the main Inventory count will be updated with the totals of each facility.
    • If unit counts are not placed into a designated facility location, they are considered unaccounted for and the negative discrepancy will be displayed in Red.
    • If unit counts are placed into a designated facility location and their total exceeds the facility total, they are considered overstock and the positive discrepancy will be displayed in Green.
  4. For future ordering reference, complete the following fields and options:

    • Pack Size – the number of units the vendor includes in the package to ship the product, similar to a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ).
    • Min Reorder – the minimum quantity to procure for automated reordering.
    • Reorder Point – the quantity threshold at which point the system will reorder the product.
  5. Click Save.

Pricing

To sell a product, you need to enter a selling price. You can also add other costs and related pricing for additional metrics or to customize your pricing structure.

  1. Open an existing product
  2. From the Item Detail page, scroll down to the PRICING section
  3. Complete the required fields and options:
    • Price – the selling price of the item.
    • Cost – the cost of the item.
    • Reg. Price – an alternate price of an item for reference.
    • MSRP – the MSRP of an item for reference.
    • Freight Cost – the freight cost of shipping the item.
    • MAP – the price stated in the minimum advertised pricing policy set by sales channels.
  4. To add special pricing for tiers, click +Add Tier Price Tag.
  5. Select a Tier from the drop-down list and complete the tier fields:
    • Qty – the minimum quantity the order must meet to apply the special pricing.
    • Price – the special selling price of the item.
    • Discount – the discount to deduct from the original price.
    • Date From & To – the validity of the special pricing.
  6. From the Item Details page, Click Save.

Sales Channels

Product titles and prices can be set uniquely for each channel.

  • To set titles uniquely for each channel, scroll down to SALES CHANNELS, select a channel, and in the Mapping dialog box, change the Channel-Specific Title from “(Default)” to a unique title. Click Save Changes.
  • To set prices uniquely for each channel, scroll down to SALES CHANNELS, select a channel, and in the Mapping dialog box, change the Channel-Specific Price from “(Default)” to a unique price. Click Save Changes.

Miscellaneous (Shipping and Other Options)

  1. Scroll down to the MISCELLANEOUS and complete the pertinent shipping information:
    • Surcharge – adds a shipping surcharge.
    • Ships In – sets a note to describe the item’s packaging.
    • Age Range – sets an appropriate age range.
    • L * W * H – the length, weight and height dimensions of the item.
    • Weight – the weight of the item.
    • Ship-Ready – sets the item to be shipped in its original packaging unless ordered with other items.
  2. Click Save from the Item Details page.

Vitals

The VITALS section gives you an overview of the product’s basic information. It can be found on the top right corner of every product page.

You can add notes in this section by clicking the pencil icon next to “Notes”.

Categories

Categories can be assigned to products within the CATEGORIES section. Visit Managing Categories to edit your existing your category trees.

  • You can add existing categories by searching for them in the Add field.
  • Departments and Brands are main categories by default. You can add sub-categories by entering text next to these main categories.

Bullet Points

You can add bullet points to appear on your listings, and they will appear on different sections depending on the marketplace. Click +Add from the BULLET POINTS section to start entering bullet points. Click Save to complete.
