Overview
Jazva accommodates custom-named shipping types created from other channels (External Shipping Types) by mapping them to a shipping type in Jazva (Internal Shipping Types).
The Internal Shipping Type is uniquely identified by a pre-set Value, referred to as “Internal Shipping Type-Value” in this article.
A Label Name, referred to as “Internal Shipping Type-Label Name” in this article, allows you to customize how the Internal Shipping Type is displayed from the interface, specifically when selecting a mail class.
The process involves two steps:
- Classify your carrier’s mail classes under Internal Shipping Types.
- Map the External Shipping Type to the appropriate Internal Shipping Type.
Prerequisite: Determine the Internal Shipping Type-Value
To view or modify the Internal Shipping Type’s Value and Label Name, perform the following:
- From the main menu, navigate to Setup > Lists and select Lookup Lists.
- Search for the label "shippingTypes" and click on it to view its setup page.
The Internal Shipping Type-Value is the value you will enter to map the External Shipping Type to, and its Label Name is the name that is visible from the Mail Classes section.
In the VALUE;LABEL field, the Internal Shipping Type-Value is the first value on the left (Jazva code, please do not change) and the second value is its Label Name (which is how it will appear as options in the interface).
Setting the Internal Shipping Type of a Mail Class
- From the main menu, navigate to Setup > Shipping and select Carriers.
- Select a carrier with the mail class you would like to configure.
- Scroll down to the Mail Classes section and select the appropriate mail class.
- Set the Internal Shipping Type for the mail class from the Type dropdown list (you are looking at the Internal Shipping Type-Label).
- Click Submit to save your changes.
The mail class will now be classified under the selected Internal Shipping Type.
Mapping the External Shipping Type to the Internal Shipping Type
- From the main menu, navigate to Setup > Lists and select Lookup Lists.
- Select shippingTypesExternal and you will be redirected to its setup page.
- In the VALUE;LABEL field, enter the Internal Shipping Type-Value as the first value on the left, and the corresponding External Shipping Type that it tag as the second value.
- Enter the values using the following format: Internal Shipping Type-Value;External Shipping Type
- Click Update button to save your changes.
The External Shipping Type will now be mapped to the corresponding Internal Shipping Type. The carrier and mail class for future orders placed with the External Shipping Type will now be limited to those tagged to the Internal Shipping Type.
For multiple External Shipping Types to be tagged to a single Internal Shipping Type, an entry for each mapping under the shippingTypesExternal VALUE;LABEL needs to be created. For example:
(Internal Shipping Type)Value1;(External Shipping Type)111
(Internal Shipping Type)Value1;(External Shipping Type)222
(Internal Shipping Type)Value1;(External Shipping Type)333
The final results within the ShippingTypesExternal should look like:
Standard;03
Express;Priority
Standard;03
